Jewellery Care

Will my jewellery tarnish?

Jewellery made of 14k solid gold, gold vermeil and especially sterling silver will tarnish naturally over time as they are not made of pure precious metals. However, you can follow our easy steps to keep your jewellery shining brilliantly!

What is tarnish?

Tarnish is the discolouration of metal. It occurs when the alloy in precious metals reacts with oxygen and moisture in the air, and oxidises.

How do I take care of my jewellery?

Your jewellery is designed to withstand the normal rigours of modern life, but keep in mind that they are still made from precious metals and delicate stones, so a bit of love and care would go a long way!

Avoid exposure to these conditions:

Keep your jewellery away from water, sweat, extreme heat, perfume, lotions, oils, and harsh chemicals. So we do not recommend that you wear them when showering, washing hands or exercising. But if you really have to (most of us are guilty of it), do make sure that you dry them properly after exposure to water, instead of leaving them to air-dry.

That said, our jewellery do not rust even if worn daily to shower or during exercise.

Store your jewellery separately:

When different metals are placed together, it can cause a chemical reaction and potentially tarnish the pieces. Hence, when they are not worn, it is advised to keep your jewellery pieces separate in the velvet pouches provided.

To minimise oxidation, it is best to store 925 sterling silver jewellery in an airtight box to keep out the air.

How do I clean my jewellery?

Solid gold: Gently brush your pieces with a soft brush dipped in warm water.

Gemstones: Gently brush your pieces with a soft brush dipped in soapy warm water.

Pearls: Gently wipe your pearls with a damp cloth dipped in soapy warm water.

Gold vermeil & 925 sterling silver: To maintain the shine of your pieces, simply wipe them with the polishing cloth provided.

Does my product come with a warranty?
